Ratoath v Artane Beaumont 0:1
Away for the first league match of 2012. A daunting wait for the team after travelling to Ratoath, as their primary pitch was deemed unplayable. This did not deter the team as they kicked off nearly 45mins late.
Unfortunately I could not attend but what follows is based on feedback received. The team played really well and worked together which was great. Ratoath were a strong side and were playing a similar style of football to ourselves which made for a good challenging game. The only score of the match came from Sean in the first half but Ratoath continued to press for the equaliser up to the last minute.
The goal was enough to secure the points for Artane. At home to Clonee this week. Thank you to all our travelling supporters.

January Friendly Matches
A quick wrap up of the 3 friendly matches that the U11's team played in January. We started off with a 2:2 draw against a very strong and talented U10's team. They were quick out of the blocks and we were trailing 2:0 at half time. The 2nd half saw a more solid performance from the lads and both Eoin and Robbie scoring to level the match towards the end of the 2nd half. We then faced Grange Woodbine. This game was end to end with Grange Woodbine taking an early lead. The team settled well into this game and started to put together some good passing movements. Both Eoin and Christopher scored and the game finished 2:1 to Artane. A word of mention for Robert whose great 1st half goalkeeping performance kept us in the running and Dean, Shane & David who had a great game in midfield & defence. Niall & I have been using this set of friendly matches to move players around the pitch and everyone played really well. Last Saturday saw another tough game against Malahide United. Great performance from all the team, from the keepers Robert & Christopher, the defensive partnership of Darragh, Peter, Austin, Adam & Bruno. Well done to Matthew, Stephen, Sean, Eoin and Robbie who all made the scoresheet (one more Robbie for the Hat trick !!)
This has been a great run for the team with just 1 defeat since we commenced the league competition. This is down to everyone on the team putting in the work in training and bringing this to the pitch on a Saturday. Here’s to the restart of the league against Ratoath away this weekend. Thank you lads for all your hard work and commitment.

Artane Beaumont v Ashbourne 5:1
It was a nervous start to the game with Ashbourne on Saturday with the away team taking an early lead. Eoin leveled things before half time with an assist from Adam and this appeared to settle the team. Artane started the 2nd half with more energy and the game started to turn. Christopher continued to make some valuable saves to keep Ashbourne at bay, helped out at the back by Bruno, Darragh and Shane. Eoin made the score sheet again
with both Robert and David involved in the buid up. There was no stopping Eoin as he powered forward from the halfway line to complete his hat trick. Well done Eoin !!. Dean and Peter had a good game in midfield as Ashbourne continued to challenge but the ball was not running their way. 15mins into the half Robert picked out Robbie near the goal and a well placed pass saw Robbie score. Confidence was riding high and a final attack with Stephen feeding Austin to set up Adam for the goal was a great move. All credit to Ashbourne who never gave up. Well done to both teams for a great match. Thank you to all our supporters who cheered on the team.

Corduff Fc v Artane Beaumont
A difficult away game last Saturday. Corduff were strong opposition. We need to put this game behind us now and continue to work hard in training. Looking forward to our next match at home on Saturday against Ashbourne.
Brian
The only pity in a game like these for 10 year olds is that someone lost in the end. Having conceded a very late goal two weeks ago we know what it feels like for such a thing to happen. Both sets of players helped make it such a good game. Myself and Brian were very proud of the way our whole team kept trying to play, even when 3:0 down. Well played boys.
Artane Beaumont v Dunshaughlin 4:3
What can I say a game of 2 half's. In the first half Dunshaughlin had the run of the ball and made key attacks count. Artane had a number of chances on Goal but a strong opposition keeper kept us at bay. At half time we were 0:2 down. We started the 2nd half strong and had a number of chances saved. The team never gave up and having gone 0:3 down the team fought back to level the game with 5 minutes to go. It was great to see such spirit on the pitch. Artane never gave up which was great to see. A goal in the last minute sealed it for Artane. A great team performance. This was certainly a "come back kings" performance. There were hearts in mouths on the sideline but the team did what was needed on the pitch. Well done to Dunshaughlin who ensured this was a great game. Thank you again to all our supporters.
Brian
Balscadden v Artane Beaumont 1:5
Another away trip for the team last Saturday. A really solid performance from the team again this week. Just before the game our referee "John Clause" promised Barbie dolls and prams for players if the team could score more than 7 goals.... Well this obviously got the team going !!! The team
settled into the game well with an early goal from David. There was lots of good passing and movement on the pitch. Everyone played their part and the early goal was followed up with a goal from Eoin with an assist from Robbie. It was 0:2 at half time, Artane had to restart the 2nd half against
the wind and Balscadden threatened from the restart. Peter scored to make it 0:3 but the opposition did not give up and responded with a well worked
goal. Artane did not lose focus and responded with 2 more goals from Peter
& David. This was a great team performance and every player played their
part. There was some great defensive work from Austin, Adam, Bruno & Shane. It was great to see the midfield Dean, Robert, Darragh & Sean getting back to help out with the defence which is so important. Lastly to mention our keeper on the day Christopher who played a key role in the match. Again thank you to all our supporters who travelled to the game. We cant
guarantee sunshine every week but we will continue to work with the team on
delivering good football.
Brian & Niall
Well that was some game in some rain. Great performance by the lads, plenty of effort and a lot of good chances at both ends. THe equaliser for cloughertown came right at the end of the match but it didn't dampen our spirits on a soaking wet day. Well done everyone.
Cloughtertown Utd v Artane Beaumont 1:1
It was a trip away from home this week for the team. We had dreadful weather conditions to contend with but that did not dappen our team spirits. Artane took an early lead with David finding the net after 5 mins. Cloughtertown immediately fought back and but for some fantastic goalkeeping throughout the game by Robert it could have been a very different scoreline. Calls for a penalty after Austin was brought down in the box were dismissed and the game continued with both sides passing and moving well. A last minute attack just seconds before the final whistle saw Cloughtertown even the tie at 1:1.
Well done to everyone for braving the elements and playing good football. Thank you again to all our travelling supporters.
Brian & Niall
This was a really good game. Both teams played some nice passing football. Hopefully we can keep it going like this for the season ahead

Malahide Utd. v Artane Beaumont 0:1
The U11's opened their league campaign this weekend with an away game against Malahide Utd. The team played well and it was great to see all the work we have been doing in training out on the pitch. The passing and movement of the ball was good, however the scoreline did not reflect the flow of the game. Artane Beaumont challenged from the off and were frustrated through out the first half , unable to convert a number of goal chances. The team continued to push forward in the2nd half and were rewarded with a goal for their efforts. The game finished 0:1 to Artane Beaumont. Well done to Malahide who also played well. Thank you to all the supporters who travelled with the team this week.
Brian
Artane Beaumont v Swords Celtic 2:3
Another strong performance from the team last saturday. The team performed well in the first half which finished up 0:1 to Swords. Artane came back with determination in the 2nd half and goals from Eoin and David continued our fight back. The final score was 2:3 and it represented a continued effort and commitment from everyone on the pitch. Well done to all.
Brian
Swords Rovers v Artane Beaumont 3:1
A challenging match for the team this week. Not helped by a 30 minute delay to kick off. Swords really took the game to us in the first 30 mins with a 2:00 lead at half time. Artane regrouped with a stronger performance in the second half. Eoin pulled a goal back for Artane and we continued to dominate the 2nd half but the Swords keeper kept us at bay. It finished 3:1 to Swords Rovers but a stong second half performance from the team was great to see. Thank you to all our supporters for your encouragement on the day. Home against Swords Celtic this week.
Brian
Artane Beaumont v Balbriggan 3:4
Well done to everyone on the team for a strong solid performance on Saturday. It was great to see some great passes and everyone playing together as a team. The first half was challenging with Balbriggan taking the game to us and threatening to extend their advantage. However a revitalised side took to the pitch in the second half and continued to challenge for the draw up to the final whistle. Well done to all.
Brian

Brian & Niall
A friendly on Saturday against Grange Woodbine saw the U9's play their first 9 a side match. This was a new challenge for both teams and everyone played their part.
The match was end to end with both side taking the lead at various stages in the match. The end result was 4:4 draw. Well done to the players who worked hard to adapt to the new format. Thanks again to the supporters who travelled with the team on the day. Away again this week in Kinseally. Brian & Niall

ABFC v Woodlawn
I just want to add to Niall's comments, this was a really strong performance from the team. This has been building up over the last number of weeks and it was great to see the team playing so well today. thank you also to all our supporters today. There was a great atmosphere in Rockfield.
Great to see the team kitted out in the New training tops. Please ensure that you wear to training on Tuesday in Rockfield.
Brian
All players put in a great effort again today. Goals from Peter and Eoin, great goalkeeping from Adam and Austin, Bruno Shane and Darragh prevented anything major at the back. Robert, Robbie and David assisted brilliantly all over the pitch. 2 1 v woodlawn.
Again another great performance today. Dean played a blinder in defence along with Callum and Bruno. Robert and David put in great shifts in goal. Shane, Peter, Adam, Austin were stars in midfield. Eoin got a great goal after a lovely passing move. Dunshaughlin got what they deserved in added time with a very late goal. The sun was shining and the players worked well as a team.
Great performance from the team last week. It's a great credit to all the players trying their best each week. Indoor training continues every Tuesday but we hope to be back on grass when the clocks go forward
